Sozo Australia Bamboo Microfibre Hair Towel For Drying Hair

5 Reasons Why You Can’t Live Without a Microfibre Hair Towel

Reducing damage to, ultimately, support your thickest and healthiest hair is not only about the haircare products, hair masks or treatments you apply, but it also involves taking the right steps to properly care for your hair with specific hair habits. One of the most common ways we can cause unnecessary damage and hair breakage, as well as experience hair that is generally dry, frizzy and difficult to manage, is how we dry our hair

For many of us, our go to routine for drying off our hair is using our everyday bath towel, brushing our hair immediately and then, potentially, using a hairdryer. However, by doing this, you’re not allowing yourself to achieve truly silky smooth, shiny and healthy hair. So, if you’re committed to experiencing your healthiest scalp and hair and are already using high quality, all-natural haircare products, then let’s discuss why you absolutely won’t want to go through another hair wash without a microfibre hair towel.

Hair towels, turbans and wraps, just like our Sozo Bamboo Microfibre Hair Towel, provide a range of benefits that are going to enhance your overall hair health and make your post-shower routine easier and more enjoyable. So, let’s talk about five reasons why you can’t live without a microfibre hair towel.

1. Microfibre towels are more absorbent which means less drying time

One of the most noticeable benefits of using a microfibre hair wrap or turban for drying is that microfibre is known to absorb water from your hair much faster than the standard cotton bath towels you use every day for your body. This is because the fibres are very finely woven. Knowing that microfibre will absorb water from your hair faster means you can dry your hair in a fraction of the time.

2. Helps to control frizz and keep hair smooth

Not only does the structure of microfibre material allow for faster drying times, it’s also known to create less friction to the hair shaft. What this means is you can experience smoother hair with less frizz. Cotton towels can create much more friction and damage, especially when rubbing your hair with the towel, as opposed to gently wrapping your hair to absorb the water. In saying this, it is always best to very gently squeeze your wet hair with a microfibre towel, then wrap the towel completely around your hair, instead of rubbing with too much force.

Microfibre towels benefit all hair types but knowing they will help to reduce and limit frizz means they are a particularly important element in your haircare routine if you have curly or frizzy hair.

3. You will experience less hair breakage and damage

Being able to reduce your hair drying time is wonderful for convenience, but it’s especially important if you’re wanting to limit hair breakage. Our hair is known to be most fragile when wet, meaning we often expose our hair to unnecessary damage when we brush immediately after washing. However, when you first use a microfibre hair towel to absorb all the excess water before brushing, you’re helping to prevent hair breakage. Your hair doesn’t have to be 100% dry before brushing, but using your microfibre towel to kickstart the drying process will allow you to experience healthier and thicker hair in the long term, plus it will help you to stop aggressively pulling and breaking your hair when it’s wet and matted.

Not only will using a hair wrap or turban prevent damage when brushing, but it will also reduce heat exposure from hairdryers. If your hair can dry faster with a microfibre hair, you won’t need to spend as much time using your hairdryer to dry then style your hair. Of course, if you prefer more natural hair or you simply don’t need to blow dry your hair after every wash, you can avoid the heat damage caused by hairdryers altogether by simply getting into the habit of using your towel.

4. Microfibre towels are lightweight

Cotton bath and shower towels are specifically designed to be thick and very large in order to be suitable for our bodies. However, towels like our Sozo Bamboo Microfibre Hair Towel are designed for the sole purpose of drying hair, which means the material is much more lightweight and the size is more appropriate for wrapping your hair and securing it on your head. With a towel like this, you won’t need to worry about the weight or discomfort of trying to wear a large, thick bath towel for your hair.

5. Hair towels are easy to wear

In addition to hair towels being lightweight, products like our Sozo Bamboo Microfibre Hair Towel are also very easy to secure for maximum comfort. With a small elastic hoop located at the base of your head (when wearing the towel) you can secure your microfibre towel without it falling off your head or coming loose. After gently wrapping all your hair inside the towel and securing it at the back, you can continue with your entire post-shower routine without needing to manage wet hair. You can complete your skincare routine, do your make up and finish any other tasks you need until you’re ready to remove your towel or style it with your hairdryer and/or other styling tools and accessories.

If you haven’t invested in a high quality, bamboo microfibre hair towel, you may not be entirely convinced of the importance of using a hair towel. But once you make that investment and experience all five of these benefits for yourself, we know you will absolutely not be able to return back to life without a microfibre hair towel. In fact, here are the comments from our Sozo Australia customers who made the switch to our Sozo Bamboo Microfibre Hair Towel:
